Supersprint Turbo Downpipes. ( Replaces pre-cat) Fits both the LHD and RHD versions.
A "plug&play" component that replaces the OEM unit without any adaptation necessary. O2 sensor bungs and brackets match the ones present on the stock component.
The expansion joints, composed by flanges, sealing rings, and retaining springs, avoid any thermal and mechanical stress that may bring cracks and consequent leaks.
The installation of these turbo downpipes involves the elimination of the stock precats, allowing a great improvement of the free flowing characteristics of the exhaust right downstream of the turbochargers. This brings a sensible performance gain, a reduction in the local temperature and mechanical stress.
The use of free flowing turbo downpipes is highly recommended on tuned cars.
As the 1st catalytic converters have been removed, the O2 sensors placed after them on the stock units will read incorrect values, and this will turn on the CEL (check engine light) on the dash.
To solve this issue there are three possible solutions:
-To extend the O2 sensor wires, plugging the sensors into the bungs placed after the metallic sports cats on the Supersprint front pipes.
-To deactivate the sensors by reprogramming the ECU
-To fit "microcats" between the sensors and the bungs on the downpipes.
